St. Cloud State (5-7-1, 3-7-1 WCHA) continue their success at home with a 3-2 victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes (5-8-0, 3-8-0 WCHA) on Friday Nov. 20.

Ohio State were quick to find the back of the net when just 24 second into the first they tossed it on net from behind the goal line and with a couple bounces, the first goal of the game was scored. The Huskies fought back at the 19:24 mark of the first with a goal by sophomore forward, Alyssa Erickson, gaining momentum for the team going into the second period. Assists were awarded to senior, Molly Illikainen, and junior, Jenna Redford.

After 7:40 had been played in the second, Molly Illikainen put one past OSU goaltender to tab her second point of the night and put the Huskies in a winning position. Julie Tylke got third assist of the season, while Alex Makaric tallied her second.

Ohio State came back with just over 10 minutes left in the game when Kendall Curtis put a shot past SCSU's Katie Fitzgerald. Molly Illikainen stepped up for St. Cloud with 3:43 left to play, when she scored her second goal of the game to give the Huskies the 3-2 win. In the past 4 games Illikainen has posted 6 goals and 3 assists for 9 total points.

The Huskies posted 18 shots on net while OSU tested Fitzgerald with 26.

St. Cloud has won three straight WCHA games which is a first since the 2010-11 season when they beat Ohio State in a Saturday game and swept Mankato for three consecutive wins.

St. Cloud will return to the HBNHC to finish the series on Nov. 21 at 1:37 pm.
