Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State got a pair of goals from Tristen Truax in posting a 3-0 win over the Team Korea in a women's hockey exhibition game Tuesday played in Mankato.

The Mavericks, who owned a 14-3 shots on goal advantage in the first period, took a 1-0 lead at 2:02 when Truax, a freshman forward, pounced on her own rebound before putting the puck past So Jung Shin.

Minnesota State outshot Korea 12-5 in the second period and after a shot leaked through Shin's pads to freshman forward Mariah Gardner at 6:29, the Mavericks owned a 2-0 lead.

Truax got her second of the game at 2:50 of the third when she snapped a shot top shelf past Shin after taking a nice feed from junior wing Rebekah Kolstad to make it 3-0 in favor of the host Mavericks to close out the scoring in the contest.

The Mavericks owned a 39-13 advantage in shots on goal in the game and as Minnesota State goaltenders Katie Bidulka and Chloe Crosby combined for 13 saves in the shutout.

Minnesota State resumes regular-season action this weekend with a Western Collegiate Hockey Association road series at St. Cloud State.
