COLUMBUS, Ohio - Charly Dahlquist celebrated senior day in style by scoring twice as the No. 9 Ohio State University women's ice hockey team (18-12-0, 12-10-0 WCHA) defeated the Bemidji State University Beavers (11-17-2, 8-10-2 WCHA) by a score of 5-1 on Saturday at the OSU Ice Rink.

The Nitty Gritty

- Rebecca Freiburger wasted no time in getting the Buckeyes on the board, scoring her fourth goal of the season just 50 seconds into the game.

- Dahlquist got her motor running shortly after that, scoring her first of the game at the 6:13 mark of the first.

- It looked as if the Buckeyes were headed into the locker room with a 2-0 lead but Mak Langei took control of the puck and scored in the closing minute of the first to put Bemidji State on the board, making it 2-1 OSU heading into the second.

- After a scoreless second period, Dahlquist added to the OSU lead with her second goal of the game just 48 seconds into the third. The senior now has 12 goals on the season, a new career-high, and 25 points, also a career-high.

- Later in the third, Emma Maltais took control of the puck and furiously drove toward the BSU net only to get tripped by Langei, drawing a penalty shot. Maltais converted the penalty shot to extend the Ohio State lead to 4-1.

- After drawing another penalty the Buckeyes took to their power play where Sophie Jaques scored to add some insurance and secure the 5-1 win for the Bucks.

- Lauren Boyle had herself quite the senior day, notching a pair of assists in the game. Maltais, Jaques, Liz Schepers, Jincy Dunne and Madison Bizal all notched assists in the win.

- Goaltender Amanda Zeglen finished with 18 saves in the game.

- The Buckeyes outshot the Beavers 34-to-19, including the second period with Ohio State only allowed one shot-on-goal from BSU.
