St. Cloud State women's hockey defeated Bemidji State in overtime by a score of 1 to 0. Freshman Olivia Cvar notched the game-winning goal for the Huskies.
After a scoreless first period, the Huskies and Beavers each had five shots on goal for five saves apiece from Huskies' Emma Polusny and Beavers' Lauren Bench.
The second period came with 15 shots from Bemidji State and three from St. Cloud State. Junior goaltender Emma Polusny stopped all 15 shots for the Huskies leading to a second scoreless period.
With 9:45 left to play, the Huskies and Beavers both took minor penalties resulting in 4-on-4 action. The Huskies took another penalty at the 1:17 mark in the third period. At the end of regulation St. Cloud State and Bemidji State were still scoreless, leading to a five minute overtime period.
The Huskies started the overtime period on the penalty-kill, gaining momentum as they returned to full-strength. Freshman Olivia Cvar sniped the game-winning goal for the Huskies with 44 seconds left in the game. Cvar was assisted by Klara Hymlarova and Kenzie Wylie.
